Sleep.ai
Sleep.ai builds an AI-powered sleep intelligence platform, offering APIs, SDKs and consumer apps for clinically validated sleep measurement, screening and improvement.
Sleep.ai develops an AI-powered sleep intelligence platform that lets health and wellness brands embed sleep measurement and improvement technology into their own products. The platform is delivered through APIs and SDKs covering measuring, screening, coaching and improving sleep, and is supported by consumer-facing applications, including sonar-based sleep sensing that uses a smartphone rather than dedicated hardware. The company is headquartered in Carlsbad, California, with offices in Dublin and Berlin.
The technology rests on large proprietary datasets and a dedicated science team. Sleep.ai reports more than 840 million hours of proprietary sleep data and over 250 scientific studies behind its models. Its technical work spans machine learning, sensor technology, clinically validated health measurement, data science and platform engineering. The company claims several firsts in the field, among them the first sonar-based smartphone sleep sensor, the first randomised controlled trial of digital sleep improvement, and the first sleep improvement solution reimbursed under Germany's preventative health model.
Founded in 2016 as SleepScore Labs and rebranded to Sleep.ai in 2025, the company was spun out from ResMed, a manufacturer of sleep medical devices. It has raised $5.5 million. Named customers and partners include IFF, L'Oreal, Eyesafe, Mattress Firm, Amway and Therabody, spanning consumer health and beauty, sleep retail and preventative health. The company cites a potential market of more than four billion people who wake up tired each day.
