Cookie Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Deeptech Insider Jobs (“we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on jobs.deeptechinsider.com (the “Site”).
It explains which technologies are used, their purposes, how long they remain active and how you can manage your preferences.
For further information about how we process personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow websites to remember information, maintain certain functions and, where permitted, analyse website usage.
Similar technologies, including browser storage and tracking scripts, may also be used for these purposes.
Some cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. Others, particularly analytics cookies, are optional and require your consent.
3. Categories of cookies
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies support essential website functions, including security, authentication and remembering your privacy preferences.
They are used only where necessary to provide the requested service or maintain essential functionality.
The following cookie is used for consent management:
- Name:
cavuno_cookie_consent - Provider: Cavuno / Deeptech Insider Jobs
- Purpose: Stores your choice regarding optional analytics cookies so that the website can remember and apply your privacy preferences.
- Category: Strictly necessary
- Consent required: No, insofar as the cookie is necessary to remember and respect your privacy choice.
- Duration: Determined by the platform’s consent management configuration.
Additional technically necessary cookies may be used for authentication, account sessions and security-related functionality when accessing employer account features.
3.2 Analytics cookies
We use Cavuno Analytics, the built-in analytics service provided by our job-board platform provider, to understand how visitors use the Site and to monitor website performance.
Cavuno Analytics is activated only after you select “Accept” in the cookie banner.
Before you make a consent choice, and after you select “Decline”, Cavuno Analytics does not load, set analytics cookies or transmit analytics events.
The following first-party analytics cookies may be used after you have given your consent:
session-id
- Provider: Cavuno / Deeptech Insider Jobs
- Purpose: Stores a randomly generated session identifier to group page views and interactions within a single visit.
- Duration: 30 minutes of inactivity, renewed during an active session.
- Category: Analytics
- Consent required: Yes
The identifier is not derived from your device or personal information and is not linked by Cavuno to user accounts or email addresses. A new identifier is generated when a visitor returns after the session has expired.
cavuno_audience_<key>
- Provider: Cavuno / Deeptech Insider Jobs
- Purpose: Stores information about the source of a visit, including traffic channel, referring website, UTM campaign parameters, operating system, browser, device type and country.
- Duration: 30 minutes.
- Category: Analytics
- Consent required: Yes
If a visitor creates an account or subscribes to job alerts during the visit, Cavuno may associate the traffic-source information with the newly created record. The cookie itself does not contain an individual visitor identifier.
Both analytics cookies are set only after consent has been given.
4. What Cavuno Analytics collects
With your consent, Cavuno Analytics may collect the following types of events:
- Page views (
page_hit): Pages visited and navigation within the Site. - Engagement (
engagement): Interactions such as clicks, taps, keyboard input or scrolling. - Website performance (
web_vital): Technical performance metrics, including Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), First Contentful Paint (FCP), Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Time to First Byte (TTFB) and Interaction to Next Paint (INP). - Application link clicks (
job_apply_click): Clicks on links directing visitors to external employer application pages.
Depending on the event, information may include timestamps, page paths, URL information, referring websites, browser and device information, language, timezone, country and a randomly generated session identifier.
Stored page URLs exclude query-string parameters except the standard UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content). URL fragments are removed, and referring URLs are stored without their query strings.
Analytics events are stored without visitors’ IP addresses. IP addresses may be processed temporarily for rate limiting but are not stored with analytics events.
5. Server-side technical processing
Certain technical operations are performed by the platform independently of analytics consent.
These may include security measures, server access logging, application-link redirects and operational counts associated with the job board.
According to Cavuno, these operational counts do not use analytics session identifiers and do not read or set analytics cookies.
Server access logs may contain IP addresses for security and abuse prevention purposes and are retained for up to 30 days.
The platform also uses Cloudflare infrastructure for content delivery and security-related functions. According to Cavuno, Cloudflare’s Web Analytics performance beacon is not loaded for visitors in the European Union.
These technical operations are distinct from optional Cavuno Analytics.
6. Legal basis
The use of strictly necessary cookies and comparable technologies is based on Section 25(2) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), where the relevant requirements are met.
Where the associated processing involves personal data, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR or another applicable legal basis, depending on the purpose.
Optional analytics cookies and the associated processing of personal data are based on your consent pursuant to Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
You may refuse or withdraw consent to analytics without losing access to the publicly available job listings.
7. Managing and withdrawing consent
When you first visit the Site, you can choose whether to accept or decline optional analytics cookies through the cookie banner.
If you select “Decline”, Cavuno Analytics remains disabled.
If you select “Accept”, the analytics cookies described above may be set and analytics events may be collected.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future through the available cookie preferences or consent settings.
Withdrawing consent stops future consent-based analytics processing. According to Cavuno, when consent is withdrawn through the platform’s cookie preference controls, the analytics session and audience cookies are deleted and the page reloads without the analytics tracker.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. However, blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect certain website functions, particularly employer account features.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
8. Consent records and data retention
Cavuno records each cookie-banner decision for compliance purposes.
A consent record contains a randomly generated consent identifier, the selected choice, the cookie-banner version, a timestamp and the relevant job board.
According to Cavuno, these records do not contain IP addresses or analytics session identifiers.
The following retention periods apply:
- Consent records: Two years.
- Analytics events and session records: Automatically deleted 13 months after collection.
- Aggregated analytics statistics: Daily totals without session identifiers may be retained for as long as the job board exists.
- Server access logs: Up to 30 days.
These retention periods concern data stored by the platform and are separate from the lifetime of individual cookies in your browser.
9. Third-party analytics and tracking technologies
Cavuno supports optional integrations with third-party analytics and advertising services, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag.
These services are separate from Cavuno Analytics and may have their own data processing practices and cookies.
Where such integrations are enabled on the Site, they must comply with applicable consent requirements and are configured to load only after the visitor has accepted optional tracking.
The use of any additional analytics or marketing services will be reflected in this Cookie Policy where applicable.
10. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies and technologies used on the Site, our service providers or applicable legal requirements.
The current version will always be available at:
