Scalera
ETH Zurich spin-off building an AI procurement platform that parses tender documents, extracts product positions and matches them to catalogs for the construction industry.
Scalera is an ETH Zurich spin-off developing an AI-powered procurement platform for the construction industry. Its technical work spans natural language processing, document parsing and information extraction, and product catalog matching, applied to a domain in which tender documents are large, heterogeneous and expressed in multiple document standards. The company's stated goal is to make tendering processes ten times faster.
The core product, the Scalera AI Procurement Platform, automatically parses large tender documents, extracts product positions from any document standard and matches them to company product catalogs. This automates tender analysis, specification matching and quote creation. Scalera reports processing-time reductions of up to 80% for its users.
Scalera has processed over CHF 8 billion in tender volume and counts more than 110 customers across Switzerland, Austria and Germany, with wider European ambitions. The company raised $6.5m in a seed round backed by 30 unicorn founders and global strategics. It targets the construction, construction materials manufacturing and building products supply sectors within a European construction industry it puts at €1.8 trillion.
