Omilia

Omilia builds enterprise conversational AI systems for natural language understanding, speech recognition and voice authentication, in use across banking, insurance, retail, healthcare and government.

Omilia is an enterprise conversational AI company founded in 2002 in Cyprus. It builds self-learning systems for natural language understanding, speech recognition and voice authentication, used by firms in banking, insurance, retail, healthcare and government to handle customer interactions. The company has operated in the field for more than two decades and now runs global operations, having grown from a garage start-up into an international business.

Its core product is a conversational platform designed to improve with every interaction. Rather than relying on manual tuning, the system adapts in real time to the nuances of human speech. Complementary modules include voice-based authentication, intended to block fraudulent access, and chat agents that use context to carry out customer-service exchanges. The technology stack is proprietary and developed in-house.

The stated engineering philosophy is that conversational systems should reduce manual intervention through continuous self-improvement, and that automated service should feel closer to human conversation than to scripted interaction. Much of the team has worked together since the company's founding in 2002.
