Insightec develops and commercializes MR-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS), a technology that uses acoustic energy to ablate targeted tissue under magnetic resonance imaging guidance, without surgical incisions. Founded in 1999, the company employs over 400 people and is headquartered in Tirat Carmel, Israel, with additional sites in Miami, Dallas, Frankfurt, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Its flagship platform, Exablate Neuro, enables physicians to perform minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures with sub-millimeter precision. The system combines focused ultrasound therapy with real-time MRI guidance, allowing tissue to be destroyed through the skull while the patient remains awake and imaging confirms the target. Applications centre on movement disorders treatment and other neurological conditions.

The company works with academic and medical institutions worldwide to advance clinical research and to extend focused ultrasound therapy into additional therapeutic areas. Its technology sits at the intersection of medical devices, MRI physics and acoustic engineering, and spans healthcare and neurosurgery as industry verticals.
