Anima
Anima builds an AI-powered operating system for integrated care, used by more than 600 NHS practices in England, with tools including an AI scribe and an AI receptionist.
Anima builds a universal operating system for integrated care, combining online consultation with productivity tools to automate manual work, surface critical information and give healthcare teams a single source of truth across care settings. Founded in 2021, the company works across AI and automation, natural language processing, conversational AI, healthcare workflow automation and clinical information systems.
The Anima Platform is used by more than 600 NHS practices in England, serving over 5 million patients and processing over 400,000 requests per month. Its two embedded AI features are Annie, an AI scribe that automates clinical documentation, and Andi, an AI receptionist that automates front-office workflows. The platform has halved document processing time for the practices using it.
Anima operates in England and the wider United Kingdom, focused on the primary care and NHS verticals. The company was founded after its founders experienced the consequences of healthcare delays firsthand; co-founder Dr. Shun Pang previously practised clinically in the NHS. Its stated approach prioritises system-wide collaboration and fundamental rethinking of care workflows over incremental improvements, with the aim of preventing avoidable patient harm and missed diagnoses.
