VALD
VALD develops laboratory-grade musculoskeletal measurement hardware and software - force plates, isometric and 3D motion systems, handheld dynamometry - used by health and performance professionals worldwide.
VALD builds laboratory-grade measurement technology for assessing human movement and performance. Founded in 2015 out of a research collaboration in Brisbane, Australia, the company develops hardware and software that capture objective musculoskeletal data - force plate measurement, isometric strength assessment, 3D motion analysis, hamstring testing and handheld dynamometry - used by health and performance professionals in assessment, rehabilitation and performance optimisation.
The product line comprises ForceDecks (force plates for strength and power), NordBord (hamstring testing), ForceFrame (isometric assessment), HumanTrak (3D motion analysis) and DynaMo (a handheld testing device). VALD Hub aggregates measurement data from these systems in a single platform, allowing practitioners to track progress over time and support decisions with evidence. Technical work spans sensor hardware, movement and performance analytics, data aggregation and visualisation software, and sports science research.
VALD technology is used by more than 8,000 organisations across over 130 countries, including elite sports teams in the NBA, EPL and NFL, military and defence units, universities and research institutions, and rehabilitation clinics. The company employs over 300 professionals in 30 countries. Its team is multidisciplinary, covering sports scientists, researchers, clinicians, designers, developers and engineers, with an stated emphasis on evidence-based decision-making and on technology that supports rather than replaces professional expertise.
