Upway
Upway runs a marketplace for professionally refurbished e-bikes at up to 60% off retail, sourced across Europe and North America and certified at its own UpCenters.
Upway operates an online marketplace for professionally refurbished electric bikes, sold at up to 60% off retail prices. Founded in 2021 and of French origin, the company sources used e-bikes from individuals, retailers, rental fleets and manufacturer returns, then inspects and certifies them through professional mechanics at its own workshops, branded UpCenters. The business sits at the intersection of e-mobility, circular-economy refurbishment and reverse logistics.
In three years Upway has refurbished more than 100,000 e-bikes and now operates in nine countries across Europe and North America, with offices in Paris, Berlin and New York. It has set a target of refurbishing 1 million e-bikes by 2030.
The company was founded by former Uber executives Toussaint Wattinne and Stéphane Ficaja. Its stated mission is to make sustainable e-mobility accessible to more people while reducing electronic waste, with an emphasis on trust, quality and rigorous professional certification of every bike sold.
