TYTAN Technologies GmbH

TYTAN Technologies GmbH, based in Munich, builds AI-powered counter-UAS air defense systems, including the autonomous interceptor drone TYTAN Interceptor METIS.

TYTAN Technologies GmbH is a Munich-based deep-tech company founded in 2023 that builds AI-powered air defense systems to counter hostile unmanned aerial vehicles. The company's technology detects, tracks and neutralizes hostile drones using autonomous interceptor aircraft, with the stated aim of protecting people and critical infrastructure. Its systems have been deployed and battle-tested in Ukraine, and the company is scaling production across Europe.

The flagship product, TYTAN Interceptor METIS, is an autonomous interceptor drone engineered to counter NATO Class II UAV threats. It reaches speeds of up to 350 km/h, has an operational range of 25 km and can operate at altitudes of up to 5,000 meters. The system is designed to engage targets at a fraction of the cost of traditional air defense systems, with a focus on scalable, cost-effective production.

Technical work at the company spans AI and autonomy, real-time detection and tracking, sensor fusion and C2 integration, and autonomous interceptor drones. TYTAN Technologies favours a modular, open-source architecture designed for integration rather than vendor lock-in, and places emphasis on the speed of adaptation to evolving drone threats. It has partnerships with major defense contractors, including KNDS and HENSOLDT.

The company operates across Europe and is active in defense, counter-UAS and critical infrastructure protection, serving national security and military customers. Its stated mission is to protect democratic societies against mass drone warfare.
