Alpine Eagle GmbH

Alpine Eagle GmbH develops airborne, AI-powered counter-drone systems, including Sentinel, to detect, track and neutralize hostile UAVs.

Alpine Eagle GmbH is a European defense-technology company founded in 2023 and based in Munich. It develops airborne, AI-powered counter-drone systems designed to detect, track, and neutralize hostile unmanned aerial vehicles, ranging from hobbyist drones to loitering munitions such as the Shahed. The company's technical work spans artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, sensor fusion, aerospace engineering, fire control systems and autonomous systems.

Its principal product, Sentinel, is described as the world's first airborne, AI-powered air-to-air counter-drone system. Sentinel combines multi-sensor detection, fire control and strike capabilities in a single networked system, and runs on a hardware-agnostic operating system that can be deployed across both manned and unmanned platforms. Application areas include defense, counter-UAS operations, critical infrastructure protection and the protection of civilian populations.

Alpine Eagle raised €10.25 million in seed funding and reported seven-figure revenue within its first year of operation. The company has seen early adoption by the German Bundeswehr and is conducting active operational testing on front lines in Ukraine. It was founded by Jan-Hendrik Boelens, a former Airbus Chief Engineer with a decade of aerospace experience, and the scientist Timo Breuer, combining deep aerospace expertise with a focus on AI and sensing technology. Work is oriented toward both military and civilian dual-use applications.
