Saphetor
Saphetor develops VarSome, a platform combining 140+ genomic databases and AI-driven variant classification under ACMG and AMP guidelines to turn sequencing data into clinical decisions.
Saphetor develops VarSome, a genomic interpretation platform that turns raw sequencing data into clinical decisions for laboratories, hospitals and life sciences organisations. The platform integrates more than 140 genomic databases and applies proprietary algorithms to classify variants according to ACMG and AMP guidelines, supporting germline, somatic and copy number variation (CNV) analysis across whole genomes, whole exomes and gene panels. Its stated aim is to make genetic diagnosis faster and more accurate, including for undiagnosed genetic conditions and cancers.
The technical work spans bioinformatics, AI-driven variant classification, data integration across genomic databases and clinical decision support, with applications in precision medicine and oncology genomics. VarSome holds CE-IVDR Class C certification, and the company places emphasis on regulatory compliance and clinical-grade quality in its interpretation tooling.
Beyond the platform itself, Saphetor draws on a global community of more than 600,000 users who contribute knowledge, and it operates on a worldwide basis. Its customers include clinical diagnostic laboratories, hospitals and healthcare providers, and life sciences organisations working in genetic testing and diagnostics.
