Riverlane

Riverlane builds Quantum Error Correction tools, chips, codes and decoders for real-time quantum computing, including the Deltaflow system and the open-source Deltakit platform.

Riverlane is a quantum computing company founded in 2016 and headquartered in Cambridge, UK, with further sites in Boston, US, and Delft, the Netherlands. It builds Quantum Error Correction (QEC) tools and technology, including proprietary QEC chips, codes and decoders that identify and correct quantum errors in real time. The company describes itself as the world's leader in QEC technology.

Its flagship product, Deltaflow, is a QEC system designed for real-time quantum computing at utility scale, correcting errors millions - and ultimately billions - of times per second. Alongside it sits Deltakit, an open-source software platform for developing and adopting quantum error correction. Technical work spans real-time decoding, FPGA and ASIC QEC chip design, high-performance computing, computational mathematics and open-source software development.

Riverlane works closely with quantum computer manufacturers, government bodies and HPC centres, and operates across the quantum computing, high-performance computing and government and national laboratory sectors. The company was founded by Steve Brierley, a former senior research fellow in computational mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Its stated aim is to make quantum computing useful sooner.
