nPlan
nPlan uses AI and big data to model and forecast large-scale construction projects, helping teams manage risk and avoid delays and cost overruns.
nPlan, founded in 2017, applies artificial intelligence and big data to the forecasting of large-scale construction projects. Its platform models construction schedules to help project teams identify risks before they materialise, sharpen project controls and reduce the incidence of delays and cost overruns. The underlying technology draws on machine learning, large language models, big data analytics and predictive forecasting.
The company's dataset covers more than 750,000 historical project programs, representing over $2 trillion of construction spend. The platform works with schedules produced by existing planning tools, including Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, rather than replacing them. Projects with a combined value of $500 billion are under active management on the system.
The problem nPlan addresses is well documented: six out of every seven large construction projects are delivered late, and the average project runs 43% longer than planned. The company's work spans construction, infrastructure, rail and transportation, oil and gas, and large-scale capital projects.
