Furo
Munich software firm founded in 2025 building an AI platform for planning, optimising and trading industrial battery storage across Germany and Europe.
Furo is a Munich-based software company founded in 2025 by three co-founders, Lena Sophia Voß, Leonie Wagner, and Simon Wittner, who met as students at the Technical University of Munich and later worked at Google X, Apple and AI startups in San Francisco. The firm builds AI-driven software for industrial battery storage, a field in which hardware is often installed but underused.
Its product, the Furo platform (originally released as Lumera Energy), covers the full lifecycle of a storage project: planning tools, real-time AI optimisation and energy trading. The system forecasts electricity prices and weather up to 48 hours ahead and then sequences multiple revenue and cost-saving use cases for a single battery, including peak shaving, self-consumption optimisation, tariff arbitrage, grid fee reduction and trading. The stated aim is to turn idle battery hardware into working capital for industrial businesses.
According to the company, its sales and distribution channels reach more than 800 installers, project developers, storage manufacturers and utilities, and the platform addresses more than 6,000 industrial sites across Germany and Europe. Reported customer energy cost reductions run to as much as 40 per cent. Technical work spans energy price and weather forecasting, optimisation and energy trading software.
