Flexion Robotics

Flexion Robotics builds a hardware-agnostic autonomy stack for humanoid robots, using simulation and reinforcement learning to deploy AI models from sim to real.

Flexion Robotics develops the autonomy stack for humanoid robots - the software layer that turns command, control, manipulation and locomotion into a single platform capable of running on any hardware. The company's stated aim is to give humanoid and human-capable robots the intelligence needed to carry out everyday tasks in varied environments, from office workplaces to space missions. Rather than building mechanical hardware, the firm concentrates on the robot "brain": a hardware-agnostic software platform designed to work across robot platforms.

Central to its approach is the use of simulation and reinforcement learning to train AI models that transfer from virtual environments to real-world deployment with minimal human intervention. Technical work spans robot autonomy, sim-to-real transfer, manipulation, locomotion, control and command interfaces, alongside AI model development. The resulting software covers the full autonomy spectrum, enabling robots to perform routine tasks in diverse settings.

The company was founded by scientists, roboticists and engineers from NVIDIA and is organised around research and development. Flexion Robotics has raised $50 million in a Series A round. Its stated target verticals include humanoid robotics, office and workplace environments, and space exploration.
