Ampowr designs, builds and operates battery energy storage systems (BESS) together with the cyber-secure Energy Management Software (EMS) that runs them. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands, the company draws on more than 15 years of battery technology expertise and maintains offices in the United Kingdom, China and the United States (Maryland). Its engineering work spans battery chemistry, machine learning, real-time energy optimisation, cybersecurity and energy trading.

The hardware line-up covers three deployment scales: commercial systems from 60kWh to 400kWh, industrial systems from 400kWh to 10MWh, and utility-scale installations above 10MWh. Three battery chemistries are offered as options, differing chiefly in cycle life - Crystal batteries at up to 3,100 cycles, LFP (lithium iron phosphate) at up to 10,000 cycles and LTO (lithium titanate) at up to 30,000 cycles.

On the software side, the AmpiHealth platform provides 24/7 monitoring with real-time optimisation and machine-learning capabilities, supporting peak shaving, curtailment, net-zero optimisation, energy trading, EV charging integration and backup power. The company holds ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO27001 certifications, and states that it is the only BESS provider with a fully integrated ISO certification stack; its software is developed with NIS2 compliance in mind. Sectors served include agriculture, commercial and industrial customers, EV infrastructure, leisure, the public sector and telecoms.
