Akuo

Independent renewable energy producer founded in 2007, developing, financing, building and operating solar, wind, storage and agrivoltaic plants in more than 15 countries.

Akuo is an independent, integrated renewable energy producer founded in 2007. The company develops, finances, constructs and operates power plants, working across the full value chain rather than specialising in a single stage. Its technical activities span solar energy, wind power, energy storage systems and agrivoltaics, a discipline in which it combines solar generation with agricultural production on the same land.

As of its reported figures, Akuo has 2.1 GW of capacity in operation and under construction, a project portfolio exceeding 10 GW, and projects in more than 15 countries. Its agrivoltaics work is intended to create synergies between clean power generation and farming, supporting both energy and food sovereignty in the regions where it operates.

The company describes itself as an 'activist company' guided by the principle 'Entrepreneurs by nature', with an emphasis on innovation and on economic, social and environmental impact in local communities. Non-profit sustainable development projects are carried out through the Akuo Foundation, its philanthropic arm, which undertakes such projects worldwide.
