Virya Energy is a Belgian clean energy company, founded in 2019 through a strategic partnership between Colruyt Group and its majority shareholder Korys. It develops, finances, constructs and operates sustainable energy assets across the complete energy value chain, spanning wind, solar, hydrogen and energy distribution. The company reports 124 projects worldwide, 625 MW of installed production capacity and a presence in more than 15 countries across three continents, building on over two decades of wind energy expertise.
Its technical work covers several domains. Wind activities, consolidated from the former Eoly in Belgium and Eurowatt in France, involve development and operations in both countries. Solar work includes large and medium-scale projects with agrovoltaic solutions that combine agricultural use and electricity generation. On hydrogen, Virya Energy engages in renewable hydrogen production and infrastructure and manages six hydrogen service stations. It also operates the energy distribution brand DATS 24.
The company additionally holds strategic investments in specialised energy service providers GeoXYZ, DotOcean and Marlinks, whose work includes subsea and offshore energy services. Virya Energy describes its approach as 'Fit for Purpose', matching renewable solutions to a client's specific needs, scale and operational requirements.
