ABSORA makes fibre-free micro-perforated metal metamaterials that absorb noise and vibration for industrial, transport and infrastructure applications.
ABSORA develops and manufactures micro-perforated metal metamaterials designed to absorb noise and vibration. Founded in 2023 and based in Berlin, the company targets applications across automotive, HVAC and heat pumps, medical, food, machinery and plant engineering, energy and infrastructure, commercial real estate, aviation and drones, with presence in Europe and North America. It raised EUR 1.25 million in pre-seed funding.
The company's flagship product, HSA3 (Absora-Blech), is a patented micro-perforated metal metamaterial that absorbs sound across the 250 to 5000 Hz range without any fibres. Compared with conventional mineral wool it is 80% lighter, produces 55% less CO2 in manufacturing and is fully recyclable at end of life. ABSORA reports holding over 150 patents, with technical roots in a scientific discovery dating back to the 1970s.
ABSORA's technical domains span acoustics, metamaterials, materials science, micro-perforated metal design and sustainable manufacturing. The company works with clients on tailored design proposals and consultations, and frames its mission around protecting human health, reducing environmental harm and accelerating quieter, more sustainable industrial systems.
