ScioTeq designs and manufactures mission-critical visualization and computing solutions for demanding operational environments. Its product lines cover avionics displays and computers, rugged and military displays, and air traffic control displays. The company was founded in 1985 and has more than 40 years of heritage in designing and manufacturing such systems, having originated as a spin-off of Barco's television and display business in the mid-1980s, later evolving through Esterline Advanced Displays before becoming independent in 2019.
The scale of deployment is substantial. ScioTeq avionics products are deployed on more than 160 aircraft types worldwide, while its rugged and military displays are in service on over 100 ship types and 50 vehicle types. More than 80,000 flights are controlled daily from a ScioTeq air traffic control display. The company serves the avionics, air traffic control, defence and security, marine and naval, and military vehicle sectors.
Engineering work concentrates on ruggedized hardware and customized display and computing products built to withstand extreme conditions, with an emphasis on quality standards and certifications and on mission-critical reliability. ScioTeq operates from locations in Belgium, the United States and Singapore.
