Quvia
Quvia runs an AI-powered Quality of Experience platform that aggregates and orchestrates satellite and terrestrial connectivity for ships, aircraft and remote sites.
Quvia, founded in 2019, operates what it describes as the first AI-powered Quality of Experience (QoE) platform built for ships, aircraft and other remote sites. The system integrates multiple connectivity sources - satellite orbits, terrestrial networks and various service providers - into a single vendor-neutral environment, continuously measuring real-time network performance and its effect on end users in order to orchestrate connections across them. The company serves customers worldwide, including in remote and challenging locations, and counts Fortune 500 firms among its clients.
The Quvia QoE Platform is the firm's core product. It aggregates satellite, terrestrial and multi-orbit links and applies machine learning to decide how traffic should be routed, with the stated aim of maintaining optimal connectivity where bandwidth is scarce and variable. Its technical work spans artificial intelligence, machine learning, QoE measurement and analytics, network orchestration and real-time performance analytics.
Scale is a notable part of the story: the platform processes more than 12 petabytes of traffic a month across over 2,000 commercial aircraft, and its AI and machine-learning models are trained on more than 1 billion QoE data points. The industries served include aviation, cruise, energy and maritime shipping - verticals in which connectivity must be sustained far from terrestrial infrastructure.
