North Vector Dynamics

North Vector Dynamics is a venture-backed Canadian company building air and missile defence, precision interception, autonomy, propulsion and counter-UAS capabilities for NATO nations and allies.

North Vector Dynamics (NVD) is a venture-backed defence technology company building Canada's first full-spectrum air and missile defence capability. Its work spans precision interception, autonomy, advanced propulsion, counter-uncrewed aerial systems (CUAS), aerospace engineering and defence systems integration, with products and capabilities intended for NATO nations and their allies. The company emerged from stealth in May 2025 and operates in Canada, working both directly with defence customers and as a partner to defence primes and systems integrators.

Among its current offerings is a line of counter-UAS solutions described as advanced and cost-effective. The company's stated design priorities centre on affordability and adaptability rather than expensive hardware, with systems intended to "absorb, adapt, and keep fighting". NVD frames its mission in terms of sovereignty and deterrence: its operating premise is that Canada and its allies must be able to defend themselves without permission in a rapidly shifting defence landscape.

The team was co-founded by former engineering professors and NASA scientists, and includes personnel with operational military experience. The company's ethos, in its own words, is that "on the battlefield, survival isn't a feature - it's the requirement." Founding year, team size and funding amounts have not been disclosed.
