Neuver designs and manufactures steering gears and rudders for the maritime industry, engineered for harsh environments. The company's steering gear range covers all ship types and sizes, including VLCCs, large container vessels, offshore and naval applications. Its rudder portfolio comprises classic rudders and flap rudders, both optimised to vessel needs and operational profiles, drawing on more than 40 years of specialised expertise. Technical work spans steering gear engineering, rudder design and optimisation, ship maneuvering solutions and harsh-environment marine engineering.

The company dates its heritage to 1953 and draws on the legacy of the Tenfjord, Frydenbø, Hareid, Ulstein, Rolls-Royce and Kongsberg brands. More than 14,000 vessels worldwide are equipped with its technology. In addition to newbuild supply, Neuver provides vessel lifecycle services, including 24/7 global customer support, genuine spare parts, planned maintenance and modernisation, covering engineering work across the full operational lifespan of a vessel.

Neuver operates as an independent company focused on maneuvering solutions. It is headquartered in Brattvåg, Norway, within the country's maritime cluster, with additional sites in Ålesund and Hagavik and presence in the United States, China, Singapore, South Korea, Poland and Greece. In September 2024, Norvestor signed an agreement to acquire the steering gear and rudder business from Kongsberg Maritime, forming the basis of the current company.
