Muybridge
Muybridge, an Oslo deep-tech startup, replaces single high-cost lenses with arrays of low-cost cameras and real-time computer vision to build software-defined imaging systems.
Muybridge is a deep-tech startup based in Oslo, Norway, that is reworking the camera as a software problem rather than a hardware one. Instead of relying on a single high-cost lens, the company builds imaging systems from dense arrays of low-cost cameras, combining them with real-time computer vision and GPU computing. The approach is intended to give content capture unlimited spatial freedom and to allow filming from places and angles that conventional camera setups cannot reach.
The company's software-defined imaging platform and its scalable multi-camera system are aimed at a range of industries: sports broadcast, premium studio production, live entertainment, video conferencing, telemedicine and industrial applications. Technical work spans computer vision, real-time imaging, software-defined cameras, GPU computing, autonomous production and multi-camera array systems.
Muybridge employs roughly 30 people and reports EUR 8 million raised to date, alongside a $16 million Series A round. It is backed by venture capital investors including Fairpoint Capital, and is scaling across several verticals.
