Microvision GmbH develops lidar and perception systems built on MEMS-based laser beam scanning, a technology the company has worked on since its founding in 1993. Its approach combines MEMS, lasers, optics, hardware engineering, algorithms and machine-learning software in proprietary sensor and perception products for autonomous systems. The company holds 735 issued and pending patents - more than any competitor in the space, it states - and reports over 30 years of innovation in precision optics and embedded sensing.

The product line spans sensors and software. MAVIN® is a long-range solid-state lidar sensor for automotive and industrial use; the MOVIA™ series covers additional solid-state lidar applications. Perception software processes raw lidar data into environmental abstraction, forming part of a platform that runs from raw point clouds to an open software framework. Aerial perception solutions provide real-time 3D mapping, and the MOSAIK™ Suite supports automated sensor validation.

Microvision GmbH supplies customers in automotive ADAS, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, robotics, warehousing, agriculture, and security and defence. The acquisition of Ibeo Automotive Systems GmbH brought combined lidar experience of over 50 years. The company operates from three locations: Redmond, Detroit and Hamburg.
