Innovamat

Innovamat builds research-backed, manipulative-based maths curricula from Pre-K to Middle School, with digital practice tools, assessment resources and teacher training, used in over 2,600 schools across nine countries.

Innovamat, founded in 2017 and based in Barcelona, develops research-backed, manipulative-based mathematics curricula spanning Pre-K through Middle School. The programmes are designed to replace traditional textbooks, prioritising deep understanding, reasoning and problem-solving over memorisation. The company's work sits at the intersection of educational research, curriculum design, assessment design and edtech, with a cross-disciplinary team of more than 320 educators, mathematicians, engineers and researchers who study what works in real classrooms and iterate on the programmes accordingly.

Alongside the curriculum, Innovamat builds digital practice tools under the name Atlas Math, and supplies assessment resources and extensive teacher training and professional development programmes. The curriculum itself is used in over 2,600 schools across nine countries, with 27,000 partner teachers delivering it to more than 600,000 students every day.

The engineering and research work is inseparable from the classroom context: the team is drawn largely from educational backgrounds, and technical roles are oriented around the practical problems teachers face in delivering mathematics instruction. Applications span curriculum design, digital learning tools, assessment and teacher development across the K-12 sector.
