GATE Space is an Austrian startup founded in 2022 that develops green chemical in-space propulsion and mobility systems for satellites, capsules and landing vehicles. A spin-off from the TU Wien Space Team, the company designs rocket engines for orbital manoeuvring, with a technical focus on deep throttling and differential thrust stabilization - capabilities it applies to what it describes as the mobility infrastructure of the commercial space economy.

Its product line comprises two items. GATE Jetpack is a plug-and-play mobility unit for satellite missions. GATE Thruster is billed as the first satellite thruster capable of highly responsive deep throttling and differential thrust stabilization. The company reports more than 8,000 successful hot-fire tests, conducted under both atmospheric and vacuum conditions, and operates what it calls Europe's most advanced commercial test site for high-thrust mobility systems.

Production takes place in a 560 m² high-precision facility in Austria, drawing on a supply chain that is 98% European. A product is scheduled to launch to space aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 in 2026. GATE Space is headquartered in Vienna, with a presence in San Francisco, California. The firm has won startup awards and positions itself as building the mobility backbone of the space economy.
