Fiducial

Dutch deep-tech startup in Delft building autonomous counter-drone and defence software for detection, GNSS-independent navigation and air-to-air interception on UAVs.

Fiducial is a Dutch deep-tech company headquartered in Delft, developing autonomous counter-drone and defence software for detection, interception and navigation in contested environments. A spin-off from TU Delft, the company builds autonomous systems grounded in mathematical thinking, with an engineering philosophy that prioritises precision over AI branding and designs systems so that operators can anticipate, verify and trust them under pressure.

The company's work spans computer vision, 3D vision, spatial geometry processing, visual odometry, terrain recognition and thermal sensing, applied to front-line-proven 3D vision and computer vision solutions for UAVs. Its software is platform-agnostic and runs on constrained edge hardware. Three core capabilities form the product line: Chain Home, a distributed early-warning detection system using low-cost visual and thermal sensors; Pathfinder, a GNSS-independent navigation solution leveraging visual odometry and terrain recognition; and Intercept, onboard autonomy software enabling air-to-air terminal guidance for drone platforms.

Fiducial's software has been validated in active operational conditions, including collaboration with Ukrainian defence units through the BRAVE1 initiative. The company has moved rapidly from academic spin-off to operational provider, with a presence in Delft and operational work in Ukraine.
