CycloTech GmbH develops CycloRotors, a 360-degree thrust vectoring electric propulsion system for eVTOL aircraft, with a six-rotor BlackBird demonstrator and headquarters in Linz, Austria.
CycloTech GmbH is an Austrian aerospace technology company headquartered in Linz, developing CycloRotors, an electrically driven 360-degree thrust vectoring propulsion system for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The technology decouples flight path from vehicle attitude, providing precise control and smooth hover-to-flight transitions even in challenging conditions. CycloTech reports that CycloRotors can reduce the overall vehicle footprint by up to 50%.
The company's technical work spans aerospace propulsion, electric propulsion, CycloRotor technology and advanced air mobility. Its BlackBird Demonstrator, a technology demonstrator aircraft fitted with six CycloRotors, was developed with funding from the EU and Upper Austria. CycloTech's backing to date is government and non-dilutive funding rather than disclosed venture rounds.
CycloTech operates from Linz and has a presence in Germany and Abu Dhabi, UAE, and is part of the Ludwig Bölkow Campus aviation innovation center. The company collaborates with partners across the aerospace ecosystem and is active in advanced air mobility, urban air mobility and sustainable aviation propulsion.
