Asso.subsea

Greek technology company founded in 1976 that installs, protects and repairs submarine cables for interconnectors, offshore wind and critical infrastructure, using in-house vessels and proprietary burial tooling.

Asso.subsea is a Greek-owned technology company that installs, protects and repairs submarine cables for power interconnectors, offshore wind farms and critical power and telecommunications infrastructure. Founded in 1976 and originally known as Assodivers, it has been a contractor for Greek cable projects since 1985 and now operates worldwide, with work spanning the Red Sea and the English Channel.

Its technical scope covers the full subsea cable lifecycle: installation, trenching and seabed preparation, cable protection and burial, and rapid-response inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) services for infrastructure outages. The company is active in fixed and floating offshore wind cabling as well as interconnector projects. Distinctively, it designs, builds and operates its own specialised equipment rather than relying on rented tooling - including custom-built burial tools capable of handling soil harder than 100 MPa, developed through decades of in-house engineering.

The fleet includes the company-owned cable laying vessels Ariadne and Atalanti, plus trenching support vessels. Althea, a next-generation cable layer, is currently under construction. A Marine Technology Business Unit builds custom vessels and marine technology solutions, extending the company's engineering capability from subsea tooling into vessel design and construction.
